SunRace MTB Rear Derailleur Hanger Extender – 42–50T
The SunRace derailleur hanger extender helps adapt compatible mountain-bike rear derailleurs for use with wide-range cassettes featuring larger 42T, 46T, 48T or 50T sprockets.
Installed between the bicycle’s existing derailleur hanger and rear derailleur, the extender moves the derailleur downward to provide additional clearance between the upper jockey wheel and the cassette’s largest sprocket.
Designed for Wide-Range MTB Cassettes
The adapter can improve derailleur positioning when upgrading to a cassette with a larger low-gear sprocket than the original drivetrain was designed to accommodate. This can help the chain move more smoothly onto the largest sprockets.
May Extend Existing Derailleur Compatibility
The extender may allow certain rear derailleurs to work with larger sprockets than their standard clearance permits. However, it does not change the derailleur’s total chain capacity, cage length, indexing or drivetrain speed compatibility.
The rear derailleur, shifter, cassette, chain and crankset must still be mutually compatible. A longer chain may also be required after fitting a substantially larger cassette.
MTB-Specific Application
This hanger extension is intended for mountain-bike drivetrains using a conventional replaceable derailleur hanger. Compatibility should be checked before installation, particularly on frames with unusual hanger designs or direct-mount derailleurs.
