Description

Orca Apex Float V2 Men’s Triathlon Wetsuit

The Orca Apex Float V2 is the most buoyant wetsuit in Orca’s range. It is designed for long-distance triathletes who want to conserve energy and for swimmers who need additional support to maintain an efficient horizontal position in the water.

Advanced buoyancy technologies lift and stabilise the lower body, while highly flexible Yamamoto neoprene and revised shoulder patterning reduce tension around the shoulders and underarms. The result is a technically supportive wetsuit that helps correct body position without unnecessarily restricting the swimming stroke.

Maximum Buoyancy and Body-Position Support

Exolift and Aerodome technologies provide exceptional buoyancy through the lower body. Hundreds of internal air pockets increase flotation, helping raise the hips and legs into a more hydrodynamic position.

Aerodome provides up to 30% more buoyancy than conventional neoprene, while the Exolift construction is designed for maximum flotation with minimal water absorption. This can reduce drag and help maintain swimming form as fatigue develops.

Maximum Shoulder Flexibility

Highly elastic Yamamoto neoprene, Infinity Skin 2 lining and Dynamic Shoulder Fit technology reduce tension across the shoulders, arms and back. Revised shoulder patterning creates additional internal space around the shoulder and underarm panels for a more natural range of movement.

The upper-back and shoulder graphics have also been removed to avoid restricting material elasticity during the swimming stroke.

High Elbow and Forearm Support

High Elbow Panel technology uses strategically positioned buoyant material to help keep the elbow elevated during the stroke. This provides technical support for improved stability and body positioning without significantly restricting movement.

The Feel The Water forearm panel uses thin and flexible material to improve sensitivity through the catch phase, helping the swimmer maintain a more effective stroke.

Improved Hydrodynamics

Yamamoto 39 and 40 neoprene is combined with SCS surface treatments to reduce resistance through the water. Orca’s Nano Ice SCS treatment is designed to reduce friction by 68% compared with a conventional wetsuit surface.

The Power-Fit compressive lining creates a secure fit around the torso and back, limiting unnecessary water entry and helping maintain a streamlined profile.

Thermal Comfort

The wetsuit uses 3mm neoprene across the chest and back and 5mm material through the legs. This construction provides insulation against cooler open-water temperatures while concentrating buoyancy where it most effectively supports body position.

Quick Triathlon Transitions

Hydrolite material around the arms and legs helps the wetsuit slide off more easily during transition. Its compressive properties also improve the seal around areas where water may enter.

A low-profile laser-cut neck with Hydrolite lining provides a close seal designed to reduce water entry and minimise chafing.

Who Is It For?

  • Triathletes seeking maximum buoyancy
  • Long-distance swimmers looking to conserve energy
  • Swimmers whose legs tend to sink
  • Athletes who benefit from technical body-position correction
  • Swimmers wanting high buoyancy without sacrificing shoulder movement

Care Instructions

  • Rinse thoroughly with fresh water after every use
  • Use a small amount of neutral-pH soap when necessary
  • Keep the wetsuit away from excessive chlorine and other chemicals
  • Air-dry in a ventilated place away from direct sunlight
  • Keep Velcro away from the inner lining
  • Use the included Fabric Gloves when putting it on
  • Avoid pulling the neoprene with your fingernails
  • Avoid leaning against rough surfaces while wearing it

Storage

Store the wetsuit without sharp folds or prolonged stretching. Drape it over a suitable hanger at the waist rather than hanging it from the shoulders, as shoulder hanging may stretch and damage the most flexible panels.

This wetsuit is designed specifically for triathlon and open-water swimming. Damage caused by other activities, fingernails, Velcro or contact with rough surfaces may not be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
